The act of producing quality work
Here quality is defined not as a characteristic but as the process by which the music is created. All energy is focused upon each moment, each note throughout the process of creation. The objective of the process is perfection, for I believe it is possible to achieve perfection.
Recognizing the bass as an instrument of beauty
As a principal voice in this music, the bass is given the respect and trust that it can be the focal point. It is densely beautiful, stark, and its low tones transmit the vibration and sound of god's voice; god being perfect goodness, perfect love, perfect silence, perfect beauty, all things expressed with the intent to reveal perfect love, perfect silence, perfect beauty.
The Offering
The artist offers the listener a thought or a feeling that the listener may not have had. The offering is built upon a lifetime of experiences musical and spiritual. The listener must be willing to surrender to, participate in, and accept the feelings and thoughts that the artist reveals. The music should also speak to and illuminate whatever the listener's feelings and thoughts are. This is the gift of the artist and also the listener's gift to the artist - that each one is willing to go on the journey and participate, experience, and share their deepest selves.
Playing The Bass
Playing the bass involves having a complete awareness of everything that occurs in the music being played. It is about expressing the deepest human and soul feelings. It is sharing the passion of the self and the bass in a manner that has the ability to move people and provide them with a sense of possibilities, inspiration, and whatever else they may receive from hearing the bass.
